MAUREEN SHEPHERD, one of the best women darts players in the Caribbean over the last ten years, finally achieved the coveted title of Ladies Singles Champion at the Digicel Caribbean Cup when she defeated her compatriot Michelle Stephens 2-1 at Sherbourne Conference Centre on Thursday.

It looked as though Shepherd was going to overwhelm her opponent because in the first game of the three, she powered ahead with scores of 140 and then 100 to leave herself with ample time to check out without Stephens getting close to a finish
